GMO travel tip
August 12th, 2009
Travel Tip:
If you are traveling this summer you might find yourself navigating through a foreign grocery store with few labels. GMO’s (Genetically Modified Organisms) are to be avoided, and buy organic whenever you can. The best way to avoid GMOS to buy from local farmers. But in stores you can check the codes on the produce. If the produce sticker has a code that begins with a 4 then it was grown conventionally, if it begins with a 9 then it was grown organically, and if it begins with an 8 then it is a GMO.
