Ali’i Suite

This luxurious suite has inspired romantic, dream-like experiences. Nestled in a lush jungle setting, it features a King bed with a mirrored canopy while the other half of suite is the Redwood Room with a Queen or two Single beds separated by a shoji screen. Each room has its own entrances with access to the shared bathroom. Hidden by tropical vegetation for privacy is a shower and an outdoor sunken bathtub adjacent to a private deck.

Jungle Penthouse

This treehouse-style studio apartment has an elevated queen bed in a windowed room with robes in the closet. A single loft bed has ocean and treetop views. The futon couch can open into a full bed. This airy space has it’s own toilet and sink/half bath, kitchen, ceiling fan, small refrigerator and high kitchen table overlooking the Monkeypod tree for computer work and dining. A private covered deck has lounge chairs for viewing the Pacific—with cool breezes and beautiful Kona sunsets. Down one flight of stairs is a lovely garden shower. This unique space can accommodate up to 5. Please note: A certain agility is required to ascend two flights of stairs and climb up into the elevated beds.

Dolphin Room

The charming Dolphin room has a King bed and it can be split into two Twin beds, if needed. This room has a private entrance and outdoor sink and shower area screened with bamboo for privacy and jungle ambiance. A small refrigerator, kettle, electrical skillet and utensils to cook along with a table with two chairs are also part of this room’s fully equipped detailing.

Writers Studio

This bright, comfy studio space is below the main house on the bottom level so it makes getting to and from your car easy. This 20 by 22 room sports a Spring green color that makes people happy. The homey space has a King and Queen bed. There is a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, plenty of food preparation space, a walk-in closet with robes, a private indoor toilet, sink and private outdoor shower. A large table for four sits in front of a huge picture-view window overlooking the lush meadow and ocean.

Lomi Lomi Suite

Above the Writer’s Studio and below the roof deck, this 20′ x 22′ room has a spacious, open feeling with a high ceiling, two walls of screen and one wall of mirrors reflecting the unobstructed view of Kealakekua Bay. Opposite the mirrored wall is a wall of screen that can be closed with sliding mirrored doors. This airy room has a private toilet, sink and a deep 2-person tub with shower.

~ Please note: All prices are based on 2-person occupancy. We will charge extra $30/night for every additional guest.
~ In Hawaii, the taxes we apply to your accommodation are rated at 17.962% (not included in price). While we wish we didn’t have to charge this extra fee, we are required to collect it by the state. 
~ Payments on reservations canceled less than two weeks prior will be refunded minus the first night room charges. Payments on reservations canceled more than two weeks prior will be fully refunded. Nothing is charged prior to your arrival. To avoid any monetary loss if your plans have to change, we suggest purchasing travel insurance…. especially during the COVID-19 pandemic!

~ Food: Breakfast is included! Our menu includes tasty greens and fruit grown in our organic garden as well as locally produced jams, macadamia nuts and coffee. Breakfasts are served to our bed & breakfast guest daily between 7-9am. For the convenience of our guests, there is an outdoor kitchen equipped with all necessary cookware. Restaurants and supplies are within 15-20 minutes, along with a farmers market, organic fruit stands and grocery stores.

~ SURROUNDINGS
While most of our guests don’t want to be in a sterile hotel and love the homey feeling here in the natural surroundings, others may arrive with different expectations. Therefore, we hope by putting out the facts, you can determine for yourself in advance if this place is right for you. 
Remember, “A Marriott we are not!”


~ NO POOL OR JACUZZIS

If you are looking for Mai Tais by the pool, this isn’t the place. The ocean is two minutes away with beautiful beaches for world-class diving and snorkeling or just relaxing.



~ BUGS / NO POISON SPRAY

The Dragonfly is like a tree house, with lots of natural open spaces. We live in harmony with nature, never spraying toxic poison. Remember, “It’s a jungle out there.” Some creatures, such as mosquitoes, harmless spiders or geckos have been known to come inside. Mosquitoes are usually almost non-existent in the dry season but can increase considerably with the rain. If you are especially tasty, we recommend that you bring with you a spray that you know works.



~ MOLD / MILDEW

While Kona is drier than other parts of the island, very sensitive noses may detect a hint of mildew or mold, especially during the rainier season (April- October).



~ NO SMOKING

We do not allow smoking in the rooms or on property. Even smoking on the grounds carries into everyone’s screened-in rooms.  Please wait until you step off the property to smoke.


~ NOT TOTALLY SILENT

Sound travels more here than other places. You will hear coqui frogs (that many people like) and possibly the roar of the ocean. Sounds of the country can include roosters in the distance, pigs and neighborhood dogs that bark at times. While we are considered a peaceful and quiet place by many, some people are more sensitive to country sounds than others. In this case we provide earplugs and suggest you bring your own if you are highly sensitive to sound.


~ “HANG LOOSE MONGOOSE” LIFESTYLE
We are authentic folks and have an easy lifestyle here- laughing, talking and enjoying our well-mannered pets. If you think dogs should never come in the house, then you would not appreciate our four quiet, loving little dogs who are also very active residents. We also have two cats as well as 3 that live up the hill with Chantel, who are told to stay outside for the sake of cat allergic people. Please notify us if you have allergies so we can prepare the room carefully for you. We recently acquired two ducks, Bonnie & Clyde, who are just as loving and adorable! All of our animals love people and are respectful. Our pets do not gravitate to people who do not want to love them.


~MUSIC

We respectfully play music now and then. Occasionally we like to light a bonfire, fire-dancing or gather a drum circle, inviting guests to join in (concluding the session at 9pm).
