Action Alert – ONLINE DEMONSTRATION for Peace in Korea - Sun 11/28 and
Wed 12/1
President Obama is sending the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington (carrying 75 warplanes and a crew of over 6000) and other warships for additional war-games with the South Korean military beginning this Sunday, November 28.
This only escalates the already tense situation on the Korean peninsula and brings us dangerously closer to an all-out war.
And the blogosphere is already full of hate-mongering rhetoric calling for “retaliation” after the tragic incident on Yeonpyong Island earlier this week.
Two civilians and two South Korean soldiers have died. We say NO MORE LOST LIVES.
We need all those who stand for peace to call for de-escalation on the Korean peninsula and an immediate end to the U.S.-South Korean war games.
On Sunday, November 28, from 12 noon to 3 pm EST (9 am to 12 noon PST)
and Wednesday, December 1 from 7 pm to 10 pm EST (4pm to 7 pm PST)
Join the National Campaign to End the Korean War (www.endthekoreanwar.org <http://www.endthekoreanwar.org/> ) in a coordinated “online demonstration” -
1. Barrage the White House and State Department with emails and urge President Obama and State Secretary Clinton to immediately stop the joint U.S.-South Korean war maneuvers, and sign a Peace Treaty to end the state of war that has existed for sixty years on the Korean peninsula- http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact <http://www.whitehouse.gov/contact> http://contact-us.state.gov/ <http://contact-us.state.gov/>
2. Post replies on online media sites and blogs where they are discussing the issue and beat back the war-mongering rhetoric with calls for de-escalation and a peaceful resolution. Refer to the attached factsheet for talking points. Some suggested sites are -

Hi
I’ve just signed the urgent global petition to support a new treaty which would hopefully prevent mass extinction of so many species, including the Northern Right Whale and the biggest of all, the Blue Whale, which are teetering on the edge of being gone forever. This petition will be delivered Friday at the pivotal UN talks in Japan. Please check out the email below and, if this issue touches your heart, also sign!,,,G

DRAGONFLY HOSTS DR. LUNDELL
![]() |
| Dr. Dwight C. Lundell |
The Dragonfly Ranch is hosting a lecture by famous heart surgeon turned author, Dr. Dwight C. Lundell, MD, on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 7pm. He has written a book called “The Cure for Heart Disease.” In 2008, he ran the Triathlon here in Kona, coming in first in his age group of 65 to 68. Overall, he finished 10th in that race.
At the start of Dr. Lundell’s career, he was one of the first doctors to be trained to do open heart surgery. After performing over 5,000 open heart surgeries, Dr. Lundell decided rather than operating on the heart to treat heart disease, he wanted to prevent it from happening. Realizing that cholesterol levels are NOT the cause of heart disease, Dr. Lundell has set out to educate people and help those interested in good health understand how to take charge of improving their health and preventing heart disease. He discovered that rupturing of plaque causes inflammation and that this inflammation can be addressed by ingesting a supplement.
Dr. Lundell has created a supplement called Heart Shot which addresses the treatment and prevention of inflammation that causes heart disease, strokes, high blood pressure, Alzheimer’s Disease, depression, arthritis, and dental disease. Dr. Lundell points out that exercise reduces inflammation. He suggests watching what we eat, avoiding deep fried food as another way to protect our health. He has also found that by drinking coffee, especially “Healthy Roast” Asantae coffee that is created with a special triple patented process, extremely high in antioxidants, it combats free radicals in our systems!

Filed under Uncategorized | Comment (0)Importance of interval cardio exercise
Filed under Uncategorized | Comment (0)In recent years, researchers have begun to realize that conventional cardio, such as jogging, is not all it’s been cracked up to be, and that you can actually improve your health and increase fat burning by making slight modifications to your cardio routine.
The problem is that traditional cardio only works on the slow twitch muscle fibers in your red muscle, completely ignoring your white muscle super-fast twitch fibers.
“Peak 8” refers to peak exercises done once or twice a week, in which you raise your heart rate up to your anaerobic threshold for 20 to 30 seconds, followed by a 90-second recovery period.
To perform these properly you will want to get very close to, if not exceed, your maximum heart rate by the last interval. Your maximum heart rate is calculated as 220 minus your age. You will need a heart rate monitor to measure this as it is nearly impossible to accurately measure your heart rate manually when it is above 150.
Researchers have found thatImportance oo produces a unique metabolic response that is in large part responsible for its superior benefits. Intermittent sprinting produces high levels of chemical compounds called catecholamines, which allow more fat to be burned from under your skin and within your muscles. The resulting increase in fat oxidation is thought to drive the increased weight loss.
It is also the only type of exercise that will increase growth hormone levels. This becomes especially important after the age of 30, when growth hormones steadily decline. It is much safer and far less expensive to have your body make growth hormone naturally though Peak 8 type exercises than inject it like many athletes do to the tune of $1500 per month.
